Tracey Alder

Family Therapist

She/Her

This is not the life you wanted. You are not the person you hoped to become. Your choices and decisions prevent any relief from the constant, nagging anxiety that disrupts your sleep and impacts your health. It may be that the damage of a difficult upbringing is still causing sustained harm to your present relationships, and your all-important sense of self.

But whatever the root cause of your suffering, it’s always so much harder to overcome alone. I’m here to support you in that struggle as we work to understand and address your unhappiness in a safe, constructive, trauma-informed space.

As an EMDR-trained family therapist, I can help identify and manage the symptoms of trauma and provide counsel with relationships according to your needs and goals. I have built my practice treating PTSD, C-PTSD, addiction, anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, and dissociation. My method for couples stems from an attachment-based, emotionally focused framework.

Experience tells me that what you’re about to do is the hardest part: to ask for help and to trust a stranger with the most intimate and painful aspects of your inner life. But you know by now that doing nothing is no longer an option. My goal is to make this as easy as possible for you, with a slow, gentle, and compassionate approach, attuned to your circumstances and preferences.

I am an associate member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT).
I am a full member of the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Australian Association (EMDRAA)
